Darlene Hull is a Certified Mental Health, Human Flourishing, and Insight Coach who guides Christian women to structural peace. Drawing on years of contemplative practice, Spiritual Formation coaching, and the rich heritage of Celtic Christian wisdom and the ancient practices of the church, her focus is simple: dismantling the exhaustion of spiritual performance and leading women into the stable rest (Menuchah) secured by Christ's finished work.

Her coaching credentials are held through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Her spiritual formation training comes from the Order of Imago Christi (OIC), where she currently serves as a novitiate following six years of volunteer service. She is also a vowed member of the Order of the Mustard Seed (OMS), where she leads an annual novitiate cohort.

Darlene writes weekly contemplative letters on Substack and tends the Sacred Hearth patron community — a small circle of women who help keep this freely offered work alive.

PraiseWalker is the home of the Hand Psalter — a Christian embodied prayer practice rooted in the Devotio Moderna tradition of Jan Mombaer (1494) and reimagined for the woman who longs to carry prayer into her ordinary, modern life.

A Longer Road

Raised with a sturdy Baptist foundation, Darlene has always carried a deep pull toward the mystical dimension of faith. Her spiritual journey has led her through Baptist, Charismatic, and Anglican communities, and across four countries — including time in Germany (where she served as music director for Youth For Christ and met her Northern Irish husband) and the French Alps (where their two now-adult children were born).

Like many women, there came a season — around her late 40s — where she needed to step away from institutional church and rediscover her faith outside its structures. That five-year hiatus became the crucible in which her contemplative life was formed. Today she is actively connected to a local church, with a particular focus on prayer ministry.

When not writing or coaching, Darlene rounds out her life with long walks, voracious reading, endless cups of strong tea, and a ridiculous amount of laughter. The household also includes a seemingly nuclear-powered Golden Retriever grand-puppy named Max.

Darlene is not a therapist, counselor, or psychologist. PraiseWalker coaching and resources are designed for spiritual and emotional support and are not a substitute for professional clinical therapy or medical care.
