-25°C/-13°F outside today. Very happy for my good, warm, walking clothes! A beautiful sunny day with some clouds; brisk and fresh. I’m starting to like this – but my toes are still suffering. I’m pretty uncomfortable “toe-wise” in the warm up, but once I get going at my training HR, they thaw out, and are reasonably happy until the cool down. Sure would like those warmer Vibrams! They seem to be sold out world-wide, though.
Loving my Garmin, and now I’m checking out the TrainingPeaks site (www.trainingpeaks.com). I’m having trouble getting my info to transfer from my Garmin to the site in spite of following the several excellent, clear, step-by-step videos. I’m sure I’ll figure it out sometime, but it’s not working today.
Anyway, I’m feeling pumped and energized, so I’m going to go and take advantage of that and get my housework done.
Have a great day, all!
I’ve had such a struggle with walking this winter. I convinced myself to go out today and brave the ice with my funky ice-pick straps that actually work with Vibrams (though only just – they are a bit finicky and need lots of readjusting, which is still better than cracking my head open on the sidewalk).
Do you know what you really should weigh?

we’d had a couple of good storms the day before, and so it was cool, fresh, and a little damp, but sunny. The course itself was through the woods so it was absolutely lovely.
The most amazing event was the family 1km which I walked with Tina afterward. We were in a crowd of kids that were pretty challenged as far as being able to do something as “simple” as walking. They were amazing. Sporting prostheses, braces, using walkers, crutches, and some just limping along, we all crossed the finish line together, and I was moved to thank God that not only did I have two strong, undamaged legs, but so did my kids and my husband. The kids and their parents in that race all deserved a medal, that’s for sure! Very impressive!

I’ve got another iPod app for you today. It’s called “
My husband does his set while I time it, and then I do my set while he times. It’s fun doing it together, and it takes next to no time, but when you’re done – whew! – you know you’ve worked out.
