Waking Up
Aug 20
I’m a morning person. By the time I hit consciousness in the morning I’ve had a steady stream of creative thought happening in my mind during that half-conscious stage where you transfer from dream to reality. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, mornings! I love waking up to new possibilities and adventure. And I especially love Mondays. So shoot me!
I understand, by looking at the rest of my family in the mornings, that this is not the case for everyone!
I’m sure they hate living with a person like me who loves to start the day singing (kinda like the penguins in my picture)!
So, are you a morning person or a night person?
If it’s the latter, I have a great suggestion for you – though it will probably be the hardest challenge you’ve ever taken on: Instead of moaning as you roll over and smash the snooze button on your clock, shut it off completely, jump out of bed, and shout (internally, if you’re sharing the room with someone) “This is the day that the Lord has made! I WILL rejoice AND be glad in it!!” (Psalm 118:24)
The first few times it will be enormously difficult, I’m sure, but if you practice diligently, you’ll find your mornings starting with a whole new sense of purpose and delight. I promise.
For now, just take it on faith, OK?
