Love Your Liver – Part 2

A few days back I did a post about how your liver influences your weight, and promised to show you how to take good care of your liver so that you would be better able to maintain a healthy weight.

Here’s the promised follow up!

If you want a healthy liver, try some (or all) of these ideas:

  1. Begin each day with a cup of warm lemon tea – 1 tsp fresh lemon juice in a cup of hot water.
  2. Eat at least 200g of plain yogurt per day (look for the kind whose only ingredients are milk and cultures)
  3. Eat foods high in lecithin – like eggs with their yolks
  4. Eat good protein foods like legumes and good meat
  5. Eat lots of dark green leafy vegetables – spinach, kale, cabbage, etc.
  6. Avoid all “C.R.A.P.” in your diet (Caffeine, Refined Sugar, Additives and Preservatives)
  7. Avoid alcohol
  8. Avoid fried foods.

In short? Start with your lemon tea, have yogurt, and then eat a wide variety of healthy foods as close to nature as possible.

Sounds like smart stuff all around, really…
