Today I decided that seeing as it was the coldest morning this season so far, and seeing as it snowed, rained, and froze last night, that today would be an excellent day to get back to walking (take me now, Lord, before I do permanent damage!) It was like walking on a polished slide. I had to walk on people’s lawns (sorry folks!) to be able to walk without slipping. Black ice everywhere. My relaxed 40 min 5k walk became a tense 1.5 hour walk.
Here’s the cool thing: I was praying my Anglican Rosary – which is what I always do on my 5k walks – and near the end comes a prayer based on Psalm 37. At the cruciform beads during this prayer, the verse was: “The Lord delights in the way of the man whose steps He has made firm. Though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand” (vs 23-24)
I smiled as I slipped and slid all over while walking, trying to keep my balance, and yet, I did not fall. Not once.
Yeah, the heart of God is good, and He loves to make us laugh. We had a nice little giggle together on our walk this morning.
