I love Mondays. They feel like a fresh beginning, don’t you think? A chance at a new week, a new start, new challenges! Woohoo! I’m afraid I’m both a “yeah Monday” and an “early bird” – probably makes me an anathema to most people, LOL! 🙂

Ok, well, what if we made this Monday the beginning of something new and exciting. What if we actually began something that would set you up for energy, health, physical and spiritual strength, and a deep, abiding relationship with God. Whew! That’s a load of big promises, isn’t it? And of course, it’s not up to me, it’s up to you. I’m just here to nudge, challenge, and hopefully inspire. You have to play with things until you find what works for you.

Let’s begin with this week’s challenge: Learning to Live Mindfully.

Let me suggest a way of doing this by simply starting with taking stock of where we are – just tell ourselves the truth. Here’s how that might happen:

  • Get yourself a great journal and a really nice pen – you know, one that inspires you to write (ok, I’m also a sucker for beautiful stationery – Staples is my favourite store!) If you’re not too keen on writing, check out online journals – or simply open up a new Word document – and do your homework online
  • Now ask yourself – how do I feel about myself, physically? What do I like best? What am I embarrassed about? What things don’t I like that I have control over (even if it doesn’t feel like you have control!) What do I want people to see when they look at me? Try and write a good three pages on this, before moving on. That way you know you’ve gotten to the real issues.
  • Now do the same for your spiritual life: Where are you at? Where do you struggle? What do you enjoy? What do you wish it looked like? Felt like? What do you want to communicate to others about who you are, spiritually? Again, try and get a good three pages on this, as well.

Now, don’t do it all in one sitting! Take time several times this week to just get clear on where you are. Get it in a journal so you can map your success.
